Cameron | Atlanta Family Photographer

Any photographer will tell you that there are some children we meet who keep us smiling long after the session ends. Cameron was one of those kids for me. First of all, he is my favorite age – about a year and a half. Like most toddlers in that stage, he is so full of personality. He had so many adorable expressions, and he giggled right on cue with my peekaboo games. He was also fascinated … and I mean, REALLY fascinated with my camera. His parents tell he has a love of all things electronic. It will be interesting to see where life leads this little one … a future career at Apple or Microsoft perhaps?

Johanna and Robert, thank you so much for the chance to be your photographer and to meet your amazing son! I’m even smiling now as I think back on our session. It was truly a pleasure.

Much love,
Shannon

My dog loving blog readers … doesn’t this just melt your heart? I love the bond between a dog and his human, especially the tiny ones.

So many new babies! | Atlanta Newborn Photographer

Babies are such a nice way to start people. ~Don Herold

I’ve been lucky to meet so many new little people in recent months! There has definitely been a wave of newborns in the Atlanta area. Photographing these tiny miracles stirs my heart each time. It was a joy to meet Will, and to see big sister Kate and his family again. He fits right into this sweet family!

Kate and I spent a few minutes playing together while her baby brother had a quick snack. She was excited to show me her beautiful, pink, Big Girl room. Isn’t she a doll?

Much love,
Shannon

Growing up so fast! | Atlanta Child Photography

This handsome young man has changed so much since our last session! It hasn’t been long at all, but the baby I met then has all but vanished, and a little boy has taken his place. He has discovered the joy of mobility, so we spent a lot of our sesssion chasing him around the park. That is peferectly fine with me – my photography is all about capturing who he is at this age, and seeing his interest in the ducks and geese, and the families and dogs visiting the park … I can’t think of a better way to spend an evening! I have a whole new appreciation for this stage of toddlerhood, as my own daughter is going to be three years old soon, and the toddler in her is now disappearing. There is nothing like the innocence and curiosity of toddlerhood. I will forever cherish the chance to meet these little people eager to discover their world. If only we adults could approach each day with such fresh enthusiasm!

When was the last time you stopped to contemplate a blade of grass? I think we need more moments like that.

Another precious new life! {Atlanta Newborn Photography}

Such a sweetheart, this little guy was! First of all, as a portrait photographer, I was instantly captivated by the light in this client’s home. They live in one of those fantastic historic areas of Atlanta where the homes have such grace and character, and in their home in particular – huge windows! Ah, a natural light photographer’s dream! And my tiny subject for the day was just as wonderful. This sweet boy slept so peacefully for us, and even gave me the most perfect little smile at just the right second. I enjoyed editing this session almost as much as I enjoyed shooting it. It was hard to choose my favorites for the blog. Thank you for being such a perfect subject, J!
