Pure Cuteness! | Alpharetta Baby Photographer

Miss E is growing up so fast! At our last session, she was just starting to hold up her head. Now she’s up and ready to explore the world. I think she’ll be mobile any day now. She is such a sweetheart. Miss E is a Milestones client of mine, and I think with every new Milestones baby, the year goes by faster and faster. I can’t believe we only have one session to go. I hope I’ll still get to see this darling baby girl as she grows up, even after her first birthday. I can tell by those gorgeous eyes that she is going to be a very beautiful young lady.

Here’s your sneak peek, Mom! I know you are out there reading! :) I’ll have your presentation ready for you very soon!!

And check out this expression! She was very curious (or concerned??) about the cars driving by. I told her parents that I couldn’t resist snapping a shot of that serious face!

The B Family, Part One

Happy Birthday! This handsome young man is one year old! He’s grown so much this year. I first met him at just a few days old, with those big blue eyes and delicate skin. Now he’s turning into this little boy right before our eyes, with a curious spirit and budding sense of adventure. And thus, we have reached the end of his Milestones Year. It has been such a pleasure to get to know this family over the past 15 months, beginning with their maternity session when young Mr. B was on the way. Thank you for sharing this year with me.

I call this session “Part One” because this is one of two recent sessions with this gorgeous family. Mrs. B had three goals for her portraits this month … the little guy’s first birthday, his big brother’s third birthday, and some new family portraits. That’s a lot to plan for one portrait session, especially with such young children. I admire Mrs. B very much for recognizing that and scheduling two sessions instead of squeezing it all into one.

First, we met for B’s one year session, devoting our time and attention just to him for a morning. We had a glorious day in the park, slightly warm, with a nice fresh breeze. B is walking now, so Mom and I did get a little exercise chasing him around the park. And then, a week later, we met again … same place, same outfits, with Dad and Big Brother joining us … stay tuned for a sneak peek from that session next.

Having two sessions worked out so perfectly. We weren’t rushed or stressed in trying to capture so much at one time. It’s often very tempting to combine sessions when a child shares a birthday with an older sibling, or when family is all in town for a celebration. And sometimes it works. But more often than not, it leaves us all spread very thin and we can’t focus (no pun intended) as well on each subject. Even just a week apart, having two sessions solved so much of that potential frustration for all of us. Both sessions went exceedingly well in my opinion, and the family has a wonderful variety of images to choose from.

So first, here is a peek at B’s session. Isn’t he precious? To be continued …

Life is so sweet!

Every so often … well, very often … I have a session from which I cannot wait to race home and see the photographs. It’s such a thrill for me to see what I have captured on camera, and start playing with my favorite images. Today was one of those sessions. This completely adorable baby girl was full of smiles. And those eyes!! You know what a soft spot I have for big blue eyes!!

We had storms in Atlanta today. This was the first session for this family who has joined my Milestones Plan, to capture their daughter’s first year in portraits. When I arrived this morning, her mom and I worried about the dark skies and the low light for our session. But we made it work, and it worked beautifully. To capture this shot, I had Mom and Dad holding their daughter in their open front door. I was outside, in the rain, to get the right angle. Yes, I got drenched. But it was worth it. Anything for the shot!

To the D family, I hope you enjoy this sneak peek! And thank you for choosing me as your daughter’s photographer for the coming year. I had a wonderful time meeting you today and I am excited to be getting to know you this year.

PS – Look at those little baby teeth, Mom! We got a photograph of them after all!

PPS – I really can’t decide which finish I like better for this image, so I’ll share both. How about a vote? Which do you all prefer? Color or Black and White?
