I just couldn’t wait!

I just got in from a fantastic session. This spectacular weather we’ve been having in Atlanta has sparked a serious case of Spring Fever in me, so I was very excited to get to shoot outdoors today. And then to see the beautiful parents to be who were my subjects, and also their precious furry children who came along … it was a photographer’s dream today!

So, I just couldn’t wait to get home to see these shots. I think you can see why! Here’s just one … I must show restraint. I have three other sessions to edit before this one. But I couldn’t help but share this sneak peek. Atlanta Maternity Photographer

Thank you, Coco and Kayla, for being such perfect little subjects today! Please tell your Mommy and Daddy that I had a wonderful time photographing your family! I can’t wait to see what you think of your baby brother in a few weeks. Belly rubs to all of you!

Welcome, Precious Boy | Atlanta Newborn Photographer

He is here! Blog readers met these beautiful expectant parents recently. Their son has arrived at last! He is quite tiny and had to spend a few days in NICU. Happily, his stay was short, and he is home in their arms now. He was 13 days old when I met him. He wasn’t too happy with us for all the wardrobe changes and moving him around. But once I pulled one or two of my newborn tricks out of the bag, he settled right in.

The beautiful blue blanket you see was handmade for him by his great grandmother. I’m hoping she will make one I can buy from her sometime! It was so soft, and the texture and color were perfect!

It is such an honor to be entrusted with family’s newborn portraits. My sense of awe gets stronger every time I see and hold one of these amazing babies, especially as my own kids get bigger by the day. The newness, the tinyness, the wonderful perfection of each infant takes my breath away.

Thank you, Mandy and Brett, for inviting me to play a tiny part in this special time in your life. It has truly been a pleasure. Congratulations!

It’s too bad

It’s too bad she’s so sweet. Because it would be easy to hate her. I mean … look at her. She’s beautiful! She has an adoring husband and an adorable, devoted little pup. She has a fantastic little abode in Buckhead. She has cute clothes and great shoes. And Not One Single Stretchmark (!!!!) on that perfectly round belly after 8 months of pregnancy. It’s too bad she’s impossible to dislike!

Mandy called me just a couple of weeks ago. Right off the bat, I knew I’d like her. She was very vibrant and friendly on the phone. She recently moved back to the Atlanta area and found me in a web search of local photographers. I was so glad to be able to work her into my schedule so soon, because she is only a month away from her due date, and her little baby seems like he might be getting a bit impatient to meet the world. I’m thrilled we could create her maternity portraits just in the nick of time.

It’s been a few months since I did a maternity portrait session. It was so fun to be in the midst of all that anticipation again! I relive a lot of memories when I spend time with an expectant couple, remembering the dreaming, the planning, the wondering, and the waiting. I am forever in awe of the miracle of new life. It stirs my heart like nothing else!

Congratulations, you two. I can’t wait to meet your miraculous baby boy! Thank you for sharing this amazing time in your life with me.

They’re here!

Hooray! My first sample Storybook has arrived and I am so in love! Everyone to whom I’ve shown this so far has flipped out over it. These coffee-table books are really gorgeous. Not to be confused with some of the consumer-grade books from the popular online photo developers (and I’m not knocking them – I love them myself for my family snapshots!), these books are truly a lifetime treasure. You will be blown away by the quality.

The photos I’ll share here will give you a glimpse, but you really must hold this book in your hands to appreciate it. The thick laminate pages, the extraordinary printed cover and book cover, the vibrant colors, the satiny feel of the paper … simply exquisite. I’ll be bringing this with me to future sessions. If you want to see it sooner, just call me and we’ll grab a cup of coffee sometime!

Your book will be a one-of-a-kind creation, designed with your own personal touches such as a favorite quotation, a note to your child, or special scripture. For Miracles clients, I invite you to combine images from your maternity and newborn photography sessions, to tell the complete story of your precious baby’s arrival into the world.

Storybooks will be available in the Specialty Items section of my online store.
