Madison Shea

“My story’s just begun…”

Wow … that was all I could say when I heard Madison sing the first note of the first song she performed that night. We’d come out to hear her sing, my children and I, along with some friends and their kids. I was instantly blown away by her talent. We loved every song we heard in the next couple of hours, as Madison played the guitar and the piano, and sang some of her own original songs along with covers of some old and current favorites.

My daughter has a new line on her list of things she’d like to be when she grows up … a musician like Madison Shea. She was mesmerized by Madison. At the end of the night, I was shocked to see my often shy daughter running right up to Madison and whispering something in her ear. Madison smiled and leaned down to give Erica a hug. When she came back to me, I asked Erica what she’d said to Madison. “I told her that she did a great job and she looked very beautiful,” she said. She was absolutely right.

Photographing these promotional images for Madison was a joy and an honor. Just like her music, she carries herself with a lyrical grace and a depth of soul. God has gifted this young woman in so many ways, and I am looking forward to following her journey from here.

As in all of my blog posts, I wanted to share a few of Madison’s images here, but I also wanted you to hear her. With her music company’s permission, I put together a slideshow of her images set to one of her original songs. Click this link or any image on this post to hear “Fairy Tale” by Madison Shea. I think you’ll agree, she’s pretty incredible.

Oh, and did I mention she’s still in high school? All that talent already unfolding such a young lady … simply amazing. I can’t wait to see, to hear, what’s next for her.

Katie, Class of 2012 | Centennial High School Senior Portraits

As I’m writing this post, it just occurred to me that Katie is about to have her LAST first day of school! She is embarking on her senior year of high school at Centennial High School in Roswell, and her future lies just around the corner. She is one of the most beautiful girls I have met, inside and out. She has a natural grace that draws you to her. She is warm, funny, and smart. Spending a morning with her (and her awesome momma!) was simply wonderful. I could photograph her all day.

Thank you for the opportunity to create your senior portraits, Katie! It was truly an honor. I am so excited to see where life takes you!

Much love,
Shannon

P.S.,

Hannah, Class of 2010 | Centennial High School, Roswell, GA

Hannah is a cherished friend to our family, so it was truly an honor to create her Senior Portraits. We headed out into Historic Roswell on a gorgeous evening, just before twilight. Hannah is such a beautiful and genuine person. She is natural, funny, intelligent, and warm. She has all the personality of a vibrant young adult, yet she has a wisdom about her that makes her seem much older than her years. She is also quite creative, and it was so fun working with her on this session. She came up with many of her own poses, spotted a few interesting nooks as we explored, and was even adventurous enough to climb a tree for a great shot … twice! She made her mom and me a bit nervous, but isn’t that a teenager’s job anyway? And I had to laugh when  Hannah’s mom tweeted an iPhone picture of me shooting Hannah mid-session. Gotta love modern technology!

Hannah, I hope you enjoy your senior year to the fullest! Thank you for the opportunity to be your photographer. It was my pleasure!

Thank You | Atlanta Child and Family Photographer

I didn’t know what to expect from this holiday season. The months of September and October are generally the busiest months of the year for a portrait photographer, and I work around the clock, it seems, during those months. But I wondered, with the state of our economy and this shaky time for our country, if this year would be different. And so, more than ever, I have been truly amazed and grateful for the flurry of calls and emails I’ve gotten in these last couple of weeks. Just today I posted an update on my Facebook page that I only had a few openings left, and my inbox was full in no time. Wow! And so I must say thank you … Thank you for the opportunity to capture these moments in your lives. Thank you for the investment you choose to make in my art. Thank you for your enthusiasm and for helping my business grow as you have in these recent years.

As of tonight, my holiday session schedule is fully booked for the remainder of 2009. I have saved room, as always, for newborn clients.

**If you and I are already in dialogue about your session but have not yet chosen a date, please know I have saved a tentative spot for you on my schedule, so don’t panic! I will hold these tentative places for approximately one more week to give us time to plan your session. But please let me know your chosen date as soon as possible!! If you are interested in a holiday portrait session, I invite you to still contact me, as I will be keeping a waiting list in the event of schedule changes or cancellations (but I cannot guarantee an opening will become available).

A reminder for those of you currently scheduled for sessions … The holiday order deadline for this year will be November 15. Please plan accordingly!

Thank you again! I think I have the best clients in town. Blessings to all of you!
Shannon
