Roland & Marguerite {Dunwoody Baby & Child Photography)

This was my first time working with Roland, Marguerite, and their parents. What a great family! Roland was so funny during our session. He was excited to tell me about all of his toys, his adventures, and his ideas on life. He has quite the imagination! Marguerite is the observant type. I can tell she also has a great curiosity about the world, but she’ll probably go about her discoveries in a more quiet, insightful sort of way. Both of them are darling children. I just loved those big eyes and porcelain skin. I also loved the rocking chair that Mom brought out for the session … a family heirloom! Including meaningful props like this one makes the portrait session so much more personal.

Much love,
Shannon

Elise & Anna | Roswell Children’s Photographer

I just love these sweet girls. They both have such a gentle spirit about them. Their mommy and daddy have been friends of ours for a few years now. I first photographed Elise as a newborn, and it has been a joy to see her and her sister grow year by year. We had a lovely summer day in Roswell for their portraits. I was so thankful this year for the cooler temps that lasted well into June. I’m anxious for those mild days to return for Fall. I’m looking forward to more outdoor sessions coming up!

Much love,
Shannon

Sweet Sisters! {Roswell Sibling Photography}

Meet Emma and Lyla. This was a very challenging but very rewarding portrait session for me. You see, Lyla was not happy to have me pointing a camera at her. In fact, she really wasn’t happy with me at all, camera or not. Her parents and I chalked it up to stranger anxiety, which is perfectly normal and healthy for a child her age. We had to take the session very slowly to give her time to get to know me and realize that I wasn’t a scary person. After some warm up time, knowing that Lyla might do better without her there, her mommy and daddy gracefully moved off to another area of the park from which they could watch us from a safe distance while being out of Lyla’s direct line of sight. Big sister Emma was then a huge help to me, as we engaged Lyla in some silly games, singing, jumping and peek-a-boo. By the end of the session, I’m happy to say that Lyla and I became good friends and that thrilled me. They are both such darling girls. I’m so thankful for the genuine, bright smiles we were able to capture.

Much love,
Shannon

Stevie | Atlanta Child Photography

This family has a sweet tradition in which every child has their portrait made at age 3. I first met them when his older sister had her portrait made. Stevie was just a baby. And now here he is in his own Three Year Old portraits! Like all the kids in his family (including his gorgeous cousins, whom I’ve also had the pleasure to photograph), Stevie is so photogenic, and even more well-mannered. I really want to take parenting lessons from the moms in his family. They are raising some of the most loving, bright, genuinely polite children I have ever met. Spending time with them is always a pleasure.

Much love,
Shannon
