Addie & Cordy | Atlanta Twins Photography

Here they are! It’s hard to believe these two princesses are already three years old. I first met them when they were just months old, and I’ve watched them with awe as they have grown into such beautiful young ladies. They are only a month younger than my daughter, and I love them like they are my own. I especially love that they know me so well, and greet me with excited hugs whenever we get together. They are darling children, and some of the best behaved toddlers I have ever met.

Their mom and dad have become dear friends of ours over the years. Our daughter’s cherish their playtime together, and even my sons eagerly ask when we will see them again. They have a thing for cute blonds, I guess. I wouldn’t mind having these two for daughters-in-law in about 25 years. :)

Bryan and Tiffany, thank you as always for sharing these moments with me. I love our sessions and our social times together. Your friendship means so much to us.

Rowan | Alpharetta Photographer

Rowan : “Little red-haired one.” This family certainly chose the most perfect name for their beautiful little girl. Having a red-head myself, I have a special fondness for these unique children, who are always vibrant inside and out. Rowan was no exception.

After a few reschedules thanks to all this crazy rain and various viruses in the Atlanta area, we finally got to meet on a beautiful evening. I loved getting to know this family. Sarah works at our church, and we met by pure chance after she had already inquired about a session … it turns out, she is the one coordinating my sons’ baptism in a couple of weeks. I love it when God offers us those little unexpected connections. At the session, I met her husband Ryan, who also happens to be a photographer. He was a bit quiet about his photography work when we met, but I happened to find his website this week and WHOA! I was blown away by his talent! I look forward to seeing them again in the future, hopefully … I’d love the chance to “talk shop” a little more!

Ryan and Sarah got engaged at Roswell Mill, so it seemed the ideal spot to meet for our session, now that they are a family of three. And Rowan’s baby brother will be arriving very soon! Rowan was feeling just a bit under the weather that night, but I was happy to see that we coaxed a few smiles out of her. And who can resist the wonder and innocence of a child and bubbles?

Sarah, Ryan, and Rowan … it was truly a pleasure! Thank you for the opportunity to photograph your family.

Boo! | Johns Creek Photographer

I hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween yesterday! We were happy to have a slight break in the rain to actually do some trick-or-treating. We weren’t sure we’d get so lucky. We investigated indoor options on Friday, and actually jumped in the car yesterday morning to visit the Georgia “A-Scary-Um” Halloween festivities. Kudos to the Aquarium for a very fun visit!

But as luck would have it, the rain at least slowed to a drizzle in the evening, and out we went! My Clone Trooper, Princess, and Jawa wimped out pretty early, though, complaining that their feet were too wet and cold. Oh well! We still collected more candy than we need in this house, and we made it back home early enough to enjoy a spontaneous family movie night with Harry Potter.

The week ahead will be a busy one for me, my last week of holiday sessions, and another marathon one at that. I have 4 sessions in this 36 hour period alone. Whew! I’ll catch up on some blog posts and session sneak peeks later this week.

P.S. – The Jawa costume was handmade by yours truly. Can I get a Woohoo for the Mommy Points I earned on that one? :)

Happy November, everyone!

Tres | Atlanta Baby Photographer

I admit, I was very stressed about this session. Not about photographing it, because I knew from our pre-session chats that the mom was fantastic, and I was quite sure the baby would be adorable. I was stressed because they predicted rain the day of our session. No shock there, right? A forecast of rain in October, 2009 in Atlanta, Georgia … hardly breaking news! But rain would have really impacted this session because this sweet baby was traveling all the way from Eastman, Georgia to meet me! (That’s south of Macon, and an almost 3 hour drive.) I knew they were driving up the night before and had hotel reservations to be here in time for our 10 a.m. session, so there was no last minute cancellation option if the weather didn’t cooperate.

Thank goodness, the rain stayed away! It was very cold that morning, so we kept little Tres wrapped up in a blanket between shots. He was such a trooper, and such a friendly baby. Quite the little flirt! He was precious, and his mommy was just as much fun as I’d expected from our conversations.

Brandi, I am so thankful and flattered that your traveled so far to see me, and I hope we’ll get the chance to work together in the future … maybe next time when I’m visiting our family in Tifton! Thank you for sharing the chilly morning with me and for the chance to meet darling Tres. He is an angel!
