Liam | Johns Creek Baby Photographer

Gorgeous Liam was about 8 weeks old when we met for our session. This can sometimes be a difficult age to photograph, but Liam made my job easy! He was so bright eyed and curious about me and my camera. The light in his nursery was wonderful, so we spent most of our session shooting in there. The light colors in the decor and the bright windows made for a perfect portrait setting. Liam stayed awake for most of our time together, but finally in the end, we were able to talk him into taking a snooze which let me capture this last sweet image of him with his loving Mommy.

This was a session in which I was particularly drawn to the black and white finish on the images. Nothing can equal the crisp, clean feeling of a black and white photograph, and the emotion it conveys. Truly timeless.

For the Aspiring Photographers | Atlanta Baby and Child Photographer

I get several emails each week from new or aspiring photographers seeking advice on getting started. Each one is flattering to receive, and I wish I had the time to answer them all in depth. Unfortunately, as a Wife, Mommy, and Professional Photographer, time is my most precious resource, and the one thing I never seem to have enough of. And so, I usually can’t give each inquiry the dedicated attention I would like. In hopes of offering some insight to these rising artists, I wrote this page on my website quite some time ago. It’s been shared on many other photographers’ blogs and websites, and yet ironically, I have never shared it directly on my own blog!

Since I have gotten a whole new flurry of emails this week, I thought it was time to post it here. I hope it is helpful to those interested.

My Daughter’s Turn | Johns Creek Photographer

And certainly after her big brothers’ portrait sessions, my daughter was not to be left out! She has definitely grown up with a camera pointed at her constantly, and she is quite used to it by now. The evening after the boys’ portraits, we had absolutely perfect light on the beach. It was gorgeous! My husband came along for this one, because our darling girl is quite a handful. She has a bright, silly, and spunky spirit. And she has the energy of Two 2 year olds.

I’ve said it before … I know I am biased because she is my daughter, but she takes my breath away.

Amanda | Alpharetta High School Senior Photography

I really looked forward to Amanda’s portrait session, but I had even more fun than I expected. Chatting with Amanda and her mother as we explored Historic Roswell was the perfect way to spend an evening. She is amazingly photogenic, and so natural in front of the camera. I told her she should be modeling! And more than that, she is beautiful inside. She is warm, funny, intelligent, and kind. I hope my daughter grows up to be someone like her.

We planned our evening session in hopes of some great sunset light, but unfortunately we were dodging clouds and praying for no rain the day of our session. Thankfully the rain held off, but we didn’t get so lucky to have clear skies. Then, as we called it a night and headed back to the car, the clouds parted for about 90 seconds to let a beautiful beam of light fall through! Amanda being the perfect model she was, was ready instantly to pose right where I showed her, where the backlight could fall on her fantastic curly hair. Voila! I love it when that split-second photo opportunity comes together just right!

Thank you, Amanda, for the opportunity to create your senior portraits. You are a remarkable young woman with a brilliant future ahead. I can’t wait to see what life has in store for you next!
