“Charge it. Get the miles.”

Do you say this as often as we do around our house? We are always striving to keep the credit cards under control of course, but when a bigger purchase comes up, we love racking up those airline miles!

Thus a quick note: Shannon Holden Photography is proud to now accept American Express for your portrait purchase. Just check out through the online store as always, and feel free to use your Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or American Express for payment.

And when you have your toes in the sand, the sun on your shoulders, and you are watching your little one gleefully playing in the surf, just think of me. :)

Rain, rain, go away

Ok, friends. I need some No-Rain vibes. I know … I know. We’re in a drought. Atlanta needs this rain. I need just a few hours rain-free! I’m checking the forecast every 2 hours. And it’s not changing! Beautiful weather all week, and then BAM … thundershowers on Friday. I have two sessions planned for Friday, neither of which can be easily rescheduled. And then two more on Saturday! I’m so thankful for the drought relief, but it has also meant that almost half of my sessions this season have been rescheduled, some more than once. Please, please, please don’t rain this weekend!

On another note, I’m thoroughly enjoying Spring Break with my kids this week. I kept my calendar clear for this whole week up until Friday. We’ve played in the yard, shopped, watched movies, played our computer games, relaxed at the park with friends, hit the library, got the car washed, and even rearranged furniture! It’s been a really fun week so far. Now that I have school-aged kids, I’ve learned to appreciate even more our days off together. The best vacations in the world often happen right here at home.

And speaking of the joys of family time, here is a shot from one of my recent sessions. This little guy is one of my Milestones babies (this is actually our 4th session together, counting the family’s maternity portraits), and he is now 8 months old. He is such a sweetheart. I love the pure happiness on both of their faces!

Happy Spring, everyone!

Opening Day

I’ve become a Redsox fan! Despite over three decades living in Atlanta, being a mostly loyal Braves fan, another team has won my heart. Hopefully Tom Glavine won’t read this blog, since I seem to run into him all over Roswell. I wouldn’t want him upset with me or anything.

My boys both decide to try out baseball as the chosen sport for this Spring. They are playing through a school league, and they were both placed on the same team. That makes life so much easier for us … one practice, one game, fewer schedule conflicts. And we are excited to see how much they are improving each week.

Previously, both played soccer. My oldest enjoyed it, but he spent most of his time during the game watching the sky, the birds, counting leaves of grass, or pretending he was a super hero. My younger son spent most of his time during the game crying that he did not want to play. Baseball seems to have captured their interest and it’s wonderful to see! Matthew was even awarded the game ball last week! He played hard, stayed focused, and got a hit at every bat.

So here are my two favorite Allstars. Go, Redsox!

I think I have figured out why he’s having trouble hitting the ball. ;-)
