I’ve said many times, I hope you will cherish your Shannon Holden Portraits for a lifetime or longer, hanging on your wall or treasured in an album. But more than that, I hope you will share them. Photographs are a story, one to be shared, to be told and retold. A portrait is a story we write for a future generation, for our grandchildren sitting on our knee with their teddy bear and blanket, for our children’s grandchildren when they ask “Did you have a favorite bear when you were little, Granddaddy?” It’s a story I tell myself when life has gone by so fast and I find my memory searching for reminders of the simple moments, the way it felt to see my baby girl discover her toes for the first time, or to see my son play his first notes on a piano.
