Childhood … Defined

I could not wait to share these! I just got these templates this morning from an incredibly talented photographer who also designed many of my holiday card templates. I flipped when I saw these! I’m already planning a new display in my house!

Introducing the Childhood – Defined Storyboards. Select your favorite images and pick a word that fits your child best and … Voila! The Storyboards will be available in multiple square and rectangular sizes. We’ll have them in the online store just as soon as possible! Feel free to email if you want to order sooner.

Picture these in classic black frames with a simple mat, or in a colorful, whimsical frame to match the nursery. These will work in so many settings! How about a small collage on an easel for Dad’s desk? I think I will be hanging 4 square collages framed in black, arranged two by two in my hallway. Can you tell I’m excited about these?

I didn’t think it was possible!

Truly, how can it be? These kids get cuter every time I see them! I could photograph them all day long. Such joy, such glorious energy, such inner light. Their mother has become a good friend over the years, and spending time with her always leaves me with a renewed sense of awareness of God’s light in people. They are an incredibly special family.

I also would like to hire her, their mother, as my official portrait stylist. I love the way she dresses these adorable boys! Big Brother R’s outfit inspired my oldest son’s clothes for our own holiday portraits. Seriously, we hit the mall that night in search of that cool jacket. I even showed my husband the shots still on the camera, and he agreed that these might be some of the cutest kids in Atlanta!

I love you guys! Can’t wait to see you again!

And …… we’re done.

I did my own children’s holiday portraits tonight. It went well! I brought along my husband, my dad, and friend, Gail, for help. My kids are not impressed by me and my camera, so help is beneficial. We told the boys yesterday about their bribe … er, I mean …. reward. They were extremely motivated and behaved beautifully. Only my daughter is too young to operate on bribes. She definitely lives in the moment. And once the novelty of the new setting and shameless dancing and singing by the adults with cameras wore off, so did her patience for modeling. Being a superstar is such hard work.

Thank Heaven for Little Girls

Blue eyes + pigtails + bows + laughter = Girlhood at its best. This was one of those sessions where I couldn’t wait to see how the images turned out. This young lady was fun and sweet just like her parents. She has such an incredible sparkle within her! And let me tell you, she is not shy in front of a camera! She was the perfect subject – happy, cooperative, and natural.

And just as this darling girl was full of personality, so were her outfits! Mom shared some tips with me for finding these fun styles … I’ll be shopping for my daughter soon!
