Confession

I am a pen junkie. I’m completely addicted to pens. There, I said it. It’s a genetic addiction, as my mother was addicted to pens. She got me hooked early in life. I remember as a young girl, she and I would love to go to the office supply store together. We went to this little one room store on Hwy 9 in Roswell. There were no Office Giant stores back then. Just little Mom’n'Pop office supply stores. And I LOVED it! They had little white notepads on every shelf, so you could try out each and every pen to find the perfect one. I was just as happy in an office supply store as any toy store.

In my desk drawer, I still have a few of Mom’s lifelong favorite pens. These pens are as old as I am. I even have one of my grandfather’s ancient ink pens, the kind with an inner chamber which must be hand filled with ink.

So, it only seems natural to include pens in my marketing budget. I got a sample of these and couldn’t wait to order my own. I loved the translucent barrel, the little squiggle top, and the soft grip. And they write really well!

No, they have nothing to do with photography. I don’t care. I have my very own pens!! 250 of them actually. My mom would be so proud.

Want a pen? Email me … I’ll send you one!

One More …

One more post, and then I’m heading out for this afternoon’s session.

This family found me through the Natural Baby Symposium at Riverstone Spa. Their baby girl arrived into the world just a few days before our session. She was so bright and alert for her first portraits, so calm and peaceful. She has such beautiful skin and gorgeous thick hair. And just look at how strong she is! She held up her head really well during tummy time.

Welcome to the world, Darling!

Hello!!

Remember me? Haha! It has been weeks since I updated the blog. Shame on me! The week leading up to November 15 was my busiest week of the whole year. Wrapping up holiday sessions, editing at a lightning pace, getting orders to the lab – it was quite hectic. I am so thankful to have had so many incredible clients this season – you have all help make this busy time of year go smoothly.

Last week, I took the week off to spend with my family, including my cousins and my aunt, who joined us for Thanksgiving. We had a fantastic week, with lots of food, a trip to the Georgia Aquarium, and even a quick portrait session! My cousin’s kids are precious, if I do say so myself.

Now in the midst of packing and shipping all these orders, I wanted to take a few minutes to catch up on the blog! I’ll just try to pick a few random sessions from the past month, to share over the next several days. It’s a little overwhelming to try to catch up by posting everything. Forgive me!

Meet Miss J. This delightful little girl was just about to celebrate her first birthday when we met a few weeks ago. She is a petite princess, so gentle and sweet. She was patient with us as we led her from spot to spot for a new setting, and she only got really upset with us when we made her wear shoes. And I bet you can’t tell from the cheerleading outfit where her family is from. :)

Happy Birthday, Sweetness!

Well, okay … one person asked to see it. Thanks, Tiffany!

Here’s my firecracker. His newly painted room is going to be light blue, bright red, and walnut brown. I’m going to frame this in a thick, distressed red frame to go over his bed. He loves red!

I’m having way too much fun with these storyboards. :)
