I did my own children’s holiday portraits tonight. It went well! I brought along my husband, my dad, and friend, Gail, for help. My kids are not impressed by me and my camera, so help is beneficial. We told the boys yesterday about their bribe … er, I mean …. reward. They were extremely motivated and behaved beautifully. Only my daughter is too young to operate on bribes. She definitely lives in the moment. And once the novelty of the new setting and shameless dancing and singing by the adults with cameras wore off, so did her patience for modeling. Being a superstar is such hard work. 

Blue eyes + pigtails + bows + laughter = Girlhood at its best. This was one of those sessions where I couldn’t wait to see how the images turned out. This young lady was fun and sweet just like her parents. She has such an incredible sparkle within her! And let me tell you, she is not shy in front of a camera! She was the perfect subject – happy, cooperative, and natural.

And just as this darling girl was full of personality, so were her outfits! Mom shared some tips with me for finding these fun styles … I’ll be shopping for my daughter soon!

I’m happy to share one of these most well behaved two year olds I have ever met in my life! This little guy was not only respectful and well mannered for such a young age, but also adorably cute and natural in front of the camera. I could have photographed him all day! Watching how his parents interacted with him, I know they are due most of the credit for his sweet demeanor. I was very touched to see the bond they share with their son.

And he has a baby sister on the way! The W family hopes to be welcoming their baby girl any day now. I’m waiting anxiously for the phone call so we can schedule their newborn session! I can clearly see that she will be born into a loving, nurturing, and warm family. What a lucky little baby.

And if you read my post a few days ago, you will know that I was thrilled to see that Mom wore blue! 

We wanted to let everyone know that we will be discontinuing a couple of our products at the end of this year for a variety of reasons. So if you have been hanging on, trying to decide on the perfect image, time to make a decision!

The items being discontinued are our sterling portrait jewelry and our custom handbags. Both make wonderful holiday gifts, and since they are custom designed when you order, each can take up to 6 weeks. Any orders of these items needed for holiday gifts must be placed by November 1. (Print orders are due by November 15.) Final orders for handbags and jewelry will be accepted up until December 15.
