Another Tiny Miracle

What a miracle life is! Life, in itself. To think, how perfectly the chromosomes must blend … how in one microsecond, one cell becomes two, two become four, four become eight. And then each of those cells continues to move and divide, according to the purpose given to it before it even came into existence. One cell will be part of a tiny fingernail. One will be a delicate eyelash. One will take on vibrant color to become the iris of a curious, innocent eye. One will be within the muscle of a human heart that suddenly, miraculously, begins to beat. And all these cells, each with its own purpose and destiny, work in harmony to become a unique and glorious Life. To even contemplate this miracle takes my breath away!

The J family knows what a miracle Life is, and because their journey to parenthood was neither short or without heartache, one could tell how much it meant to them to remember the miracle through photographs. I loved working with them to capture this miracle, in the days as they anticipated their baby boy’s arrival, and in the days that they celebrated the recent blessing of his birth. Oh, I can hardly express how much I am blessed to be a photographer!

Congratulations, J Family, on receiving your miracle. Thank you for sharing your miracle with me.

Big Sister, Little Sister

ar-blog6
I had so many favorites from this session. Miss A, the big sister, is positively sparkling. Her personality is so gentle, playful, and captivating. Miss R, the little sister, is so sweet and innocent. Both girls were such a joy to photograph. I’m sure their mom wondered if I was going to hang around all day!

Fresh Air

Sometimes we just need a change of scenery, right? I’m ready for a change.

A new website is on the way! I’ve had my current site for over 2 years. I love it and still get many compliments on it, but it is limited in functionality and a pain in the you-know-what to update. So I’ve signed my contract with the web developer, and hope to begin working on my new website soon. Stay tuned for updates, and be sure to visit the new site when it is announced. Maybe you’ll see your prince or princess among the galleries!

Here is where I’d like to ask a favor. The new site will have a section for client testimonials. I’ve saved many of the wonderful emails my clients have sent – they mean the world to me. But rather than just copying and pasting emails, I’d like to offer my website visitors some more descriptive insight from my clients’ perspectives.

If you are interested in submitting your thoughts, please email me a paragraph or two describing your portrait experience …  perhaps your favorite part of the session, your first impression when you saw the slideshow, your reaction to a particular photograph we captured, or something that was otherwise memorable about our session. I’d also love to hear the ways in which you have enjoyed your portraits since the session … hanging on the wall, in albums, as birth announcements, etc.

If your testimonial is chosen to be featured, it will appear along with an image from your session. On the website, your submission would be signed as your initials, such as “S.H.” to protect your privacy.

As always, thank you for choosing me as your photographer. My clients are each a blessing to me.

PS – Thank you for all the phone calls and emails to check on my husband after his surgery last week. I’m thrilled to share that he is doing great, recuperating very quickly. And the best news of all is that his biopsy results were benign!! No trace of cancer. We thank God for this wonderful result, and thank you for your prayers on our behalf.

Reminder

Just a quick reminder that Shannon Holden Photography is closed today through August 6. My husband is having surgery today to biopsy some lymph nodes in his abdomen. Thank you for your prayers and support. I hope I have good news to share very soon.

I will check email and voice mail as often as I can this next week, but it may be sporadic. If you have an urgent request, please call my studio line and leave a message. The system will page me that your message is waiting.

Thank you,
Shannon
