More Beautiful Sisters

I’ve had several sessions lately with two sisters – it’s a trend! These two were so sweet. Big Sis had a silly streak, which reminded me so much of my son her same age. She enjoyed making faces at me, which worked just perfectly because her sweet smile and a giggle would usually follow the funny face. Little Sis is close in age to my daughter, too. She had the cutest little laugh and such a sparkle.

Happy 4th …

… Birthday!

04july04.jpg

Yesterday was my son’s 4th birthday. Four years ago, we were just waking up, looking forward to our day at a family Independence Day picnic, when I started feeling some mild contractions. I’d had a few episodes of false labor, and the baby was not due for another 3 weeks, so I planned to just continue with my day. Surely this was just another false alarm. But after a couple hours, drinking lots of water, taking a warm bath, and even lying down for a while, the contractions were still there. And I was still in denial. My husband asked how frequent the contractions were coming. “About every 5 minutes,” I replied. Finally, he convinced me to call my midwife. Her response: “Yes, Shannon, you are in labor! Will you PLEASE come to the hospital?!”

Our beautiful boy was born around 6:00 that night. Born on the 4th of July. And that was just the beginning …

With a red hair and green eyes, and the vibrant personality to match, my son is a firecracker! He is passionate, charming, opinionated, bright, funny, and mischevious. He wakes every morning ready to take on the world! He knows how to push every button I have, and push me to the point of screaming, and then he flashes that smile at me and I can’t help but hug him.

Happy Birthday, Big Boy! Mommy loves you more every day!!

I had to include just one of the baby sister. She’s walking!! She just started walking about 10 days ago, the day after my last post about her. She turned 10 months old this week.

Fireworks

I love fireworks. We watched the Marietta Square show from my dad’s backyard last night. My kids were more excited to watch the photographs show up on my camera’s LCD screen than to watch the actual show in the sky above them! :)
