Too cute for words!

Happy Birthday, Miss A!
buck401.jpg
Miss A makes my job so easy and such a joy. For all four of our sessions this year, she was the perfect subject. She has one of the most contagious smiles I have ever seen. Admit it, you are smiling now just seeing that pure glee on her face! She is going to grow up to be one beautiful little lady, inside and out. Because of her delightful temperament, our sessions always go quickly, yet I find myself continuing to catch image after image. I can’t help myself – she is so fun to photograph!

Now that you have reached your first birthday, Miss A, I will miss seeing you every few months. I hope I can see you again in the near future. Don’t grow up too fast, okay?

Family Time

Readers of my blog have met the G family before. It was a treat to get to see them again for our recent session. This family simply shines with love for one another. Their little guy is full of energy and spirit, just as a toddler his age should be. He has definite opinions and an eagerness to explore the world on his terms. Their oldest son is bright, funny, and well-mannered. I know they are wonderfully proud of both of their boys, and I am blessed to know them.

And baby boy number 3 will be here soon!! I am anxious to see the G family again in August to capture images of their pregnancy, and then again when their precious baby arrives. I’m sure I’ll be posting more beautiful moments with this family on my blog then!

Thank you to all four of you for letting me be a small part of your lives. God Bless!

Dates to Remember

Mark your calendars, and plan ahead please!

I will be traveling June 1 – 11. I will only have limited access to email and voice mail during this time. I will check in approximately once per day, so please don’t think I’m ignoring you if you don’t hear back from me right away.

As of now, my first available appointment is in September. I’ve already begun accepting appointments for October sessions, which is the best month to reserve your session if you’d like to give portraits as holiday gifts or if you plan to order holiday cards.

It may seem silly to start thinking about the winter holidays at the end of May, but in the world of Portrait Photography, the holidays get here fast!! The months of September and October are my busiest of the whole year. My schedule from September 1 through the end of the year is often fully booked by late summer. So if you are planning a holiday portrait session for your child, please call soon!

My Holiday order deadline will be 6:00 p.m., November 15 for standard orders. This deadline is solid for handbag, jewelry, and canvas orders and cannot be extended. (It is possible that my handbag and jewelry vendors may have even earlier deadlines, and if so, I will post those here on the blog.) I will accept later orders for photographic prints and holiday cards only between November 16 and December 1 with a $50 RUSH fee. Please keep in mind that my professional portrait lab is swamped just like me during the holiday months, and print orders can often take longer to arrive.

To spend some much needed time with my family after the flurry of holiday sessions, Shannon Holden Photography will be closed December 18 through January 7. I will not be accepting any sessions or filling any orders during this time. Believe me, I’ll need the sleep! :)

Brother and Sister

Meet Miss A and Mister H. This was my second session with this family, and these two just keep getting cuter. They were both so well behaved and sweet for the camera. Ok, they had one moment of sibling friction, but that is to be expected. :) I especially enjoyed seeing how H has changed since our session last year – learning to walk and run, playing peekaboo, and showing off his charming personality. And big sister A was as darling as ever. I also love that Mom always coordinates their outfits so well!

Big hugs to you both. I can’t wait to see you again!
